129B: Small Electricity Consumers Agency consultation about request for appropriation

You could also call this:

“The Small Electricity Consumers Agency must talk to affected people before asking for money”

The Small Electricity Consumers Agency needs to talk to certain people before asking the Minister for money. This money would be used to cover costs that will be paid for by charging fees to some electricity industry companies.

Before asking for money, the Agency must talk to:

  1. The electricity industry companies who will have to pay these fees
  2. Other people who might be affected a lot by these fees

After talking to these people, the Agency needs to tell the Minister what they found out from these conversations when they ask for the money.

This rule started on 1 July 2021 and applies to all requests for money after that date.
