Electricity Industry Act 2010

Miscellaneous - Regulations

111: Class exemptions relating to membership of dispute resolution scheme

You could also call this:

“Rules can let some electricity groups skip joining a dispute-solving group”

The Governor-General can make rules that say some groups of people in the electricity industry don’t have to join a dispute resolution scheme. To do this, the Minister of Consumer Affairs needs to suggest it first. This is different from the usual rule that says everyone in the electricity industry has to be part of a dispute resolution scheme.

If the Governor-General makes these rules, they are called ‘secondary legislation’. This means they have to follow special steps to be published and made official, as explained in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
