Electricity Industry Act 2010

Electricity industry governance - Who does what - Security and Reliability Council, and other advisory groups

19: Charter about advisory groups

You could also call this:

“Rules for setting up and working with advisory groups”

The Authority must create a charter that explains how it will work with advisory groups. This charter will describe how the Authority will set up these groups and work with them. It will also say when and how the Authority will ask these groups about important changes to the Code. The charter will explain how these advisory groups should work, including their procedures.

Before the Authority makes this charter, it needs to ask interested people what they think about a draft version. Once the charter is made, both the Authority and all the advisory groups must follow what it says.

The Authority has to make this first charter within a year after this law starts. Until then, the Authority can work with advisory groups however it thinks is best. The advisory groups can also decide how they want to work, as long as they follow any specific instructions from the Authority.
