This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

45: Meaning of approval period

You could also call this:

"When a big change happens to someone with a permit, there's a special time frame called the approval period"

Illustration for Offshore Renewable Energy Bill

The proposed law says that when you have a change in significant influence over a permit holder, there is a time period called the approval period. This approval period starts when the Minister gives you written notice that they approve the change. The approval period ends at the earliest of three possible times.

You will know the approval period has ended when the change in significant influence takes effect, or when the Minister revokes their approval and gives you notice, or after 9 months from when the Minister gave you notice of approval. The Minister is the person who makes decisions about these approvals. The approval period is an important time frame for you to be aware of if you are involved in a change of significant influence over a permit holder.
