This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Offshore Renewable Energy Bill

Administration and enforcement - Enforcement - Compliance notices

133: Formal irregularities or defects in compliance notice

You could also call this:

"Mistakes in a compliance notice don't make it invalid unless they cause unfairness."

If you get a compliance notice, it is still valid even if it has some mistakes. You might think it's not valid because of a defect or something missing, but that's not the case unless the mistake causes a big problem. A big problem means something that would not be fair.

If the notice has your wrong name on it, that's okay as long as it still clearly says who it's for. This means you can still understand the notice is meant for you. The notice is still valid even with a name mistake.
