Illustration for Offshore Renewable Energy Bill

If you own infrastructure for transmitting offshore renewable energy, you must be a single company. This company must be incorporated in New Zealand or be an overseas company registered under Part 18 of the Companies Act 1993. You will be required to follow certain rules.

If you make a deal with someone else to build, operate, or sell your transmission infrastructure, you must tell the chief executive within 30 working days. You will need to provide details about the deal, who you are transferring ownership to, and any other information the chief executive needs. This is so the chief executive has the information they require about your infrastructure.
