You can make written submissions to the Classification Office about the classification of a publication. This applies if the publication was submitted under section 13. You can make a submission if you are the Secretary, the person who submitted the publication, or someone notified under section 19(4) or (5). You can also make a submission if the Chief Censor thinks you will be affected by the classification of the publication. If a publication is referred to the Classification Office under section 29(1) or section 41(3), you can make a submission if you are a party to the proceeding.

20Right to make submissions

  1. The following persons may make written submissions to the Classification Office in respect of the classification of any publication submitted to the Classification Office under section 13:

  2. the Secretary:
    1. the person who submitted the publication:
      1. any person who is notified under section 19(4) or (5):
        1. such other persons who satisfy the Chief Censor that they are likely to be affected by the classification of the publication.
          1. Where a publication is referred to the Classification Office under section 29(1) or section 41(3), every person who is a party to the proceeding in respect of which that referral is made shall have the right to make written submissions to the Classification Office in respect of the classification of that publication.
