159Exemptions

  1. Every exemption granted under section 31 of the Indecent Publications Act 1963 that is in force immediately before the date of the commencement of this section—

  2. shall be deemed to be an exemption granted under section 44 on terms that correspond as near as may be to the terms of the exemption immediately before that date; and
    1. shall expire on the date on which the exemption would have expired if this Act had not been passed.
      1. Where—

      2. before the commencement of this section, an application has been made to the Minister of Justice for an exemption under section 31 of the Indecent Publications Act 1963 in respect of any publication; and
        1. at the date of the commencement of this section, that application is still subsisting and has not been finally determined,—
          1. that application shall be deemed to have lapsed on that date, but without prejudice to the right of the applicant to make an application under section 44 in respect of that publication.
