Adoptions: Notification of adoption
31Court must notify Registrar-General of New Zealand adoptions
A Registrar of a court in which an adoption order is made must, as soon as practicable after the making of the order, notify the Registrar-General of the following information (so far as it is known to the court):
- the names (if any) of the adopted person immediately before the making of the order:
- the names conferred on the person by the order:
- the names of the persons who were the person’s parents immediately before the making of the order:
- whether the adoptive parent or parents want the words
adoptive parent
oradoptive parents
(as the case requires) to appear on the face of birth certificates relating to the person: - the date of the order:
- the name of the court:
- any information required by regulations under this Act in relation to the notification of births under subpart 2 that would have been appropriate if the adopted person had been born to the adoptive parent or parents:
- any other information required by regulations.
