38Deaths in New Zealand must be notified

  1. A death must be notified to the Registrar-General if it occurs in New Zealand.

  2. Subsection (1) does not apply to—

  3. a death to which section 19(1) of the Visiting Forces Act 2004 applies; or
    1. a death on a New Zealand aircraft or New Zealand ship that occurs outside New Zealand.
