You can give a death certificate from another country to the Registrar-General. This is for a death that happened outside New Zealand. The death must be of a New Zealand citizen or someone who normally lives in New Zealand. You need to follow some rules when giving the death certificate. The certificate must be in English or have an English translation. It must also have the correct fee and be given in the way the regulations say. You can look at s 52(1), (3) for more information.
