When you get a birth certificate, it must have all the information about you that is recorded. This information is what is in the registry about you, and what the regulations say must be on a birth certificate. The Registrar-General must also put some extra information on the birth certificate, like if you were stillborn or have passed away. If the Registrar-General knows you have passed away, they will put that on the birth certificate. They will also put it on the birth certificate if they get information about your death from outside New Zealand, as stated in section 50. There are some other rules that can affect what is on your birth certificate, like section 27, section 81, and section 83. These rules are about things like changing the sex on your birth certificate, correcting information, and adoption. You can find more information about how this rule has changed over time by looking at s 67.
