53Celebrant must provide marriage or civil union form to Registrar-General

  1. A celebrant who solemnises a marriage or civil union must,—

  2. immediately after solemnising the marriage or civil union,—
    1. enter the information required by regulations on both forms provided under section 12 of the Civil Union Act 2004 or section 24 of the Marriage Act 1955; and
      1. ensure that both forms are signed by the parties to the marriage or civil union, the celebrant, and 2 witnesses to the solemnisation; and
        1. provide 1 form to the parties; and
        2. within 10 days of solemnising the marriage or civil union, provide the other form to the Registrar-General.
