You can have one or more Deputy Registrars-General to help with the administration of this Act. They are appointed under the Public Service Act 2020. They work under the control of the Registrar-General. You have a Deputy Registrar-General who can do the Registrar-General's job if the Registrar-General is away or not available. The Deputy Registrar-General can do all the tasks and make decisions like the Registrar-General. If the Registrar-General's job is empty or they are away, the Deputy Registrar-General can step in. This can happen if there is only one Deputy Registrar-General, or if one of them is chosen by the chief executive of the department in charge of this Act. When a Deputy Registrar-General does something, it is proof that they have the authority to do it. You cannot question what a Deputy Registrar-General does just because the reason for their action has changed or because they did something the Registrar-General did not agree with.
