The Minister of Police can ask for new identity information to be created. This is to protect you if you are a witness in a court case, or if you are an undercover Police officer. You might also need protection if someone you are related to is a witness in a court case. The Minister of Police can make this request in writing to another Minister. This request is to keep you safe. You are considered an undercover Police officer if you work for the Police and your identity is hidden for an investigation. The Police Commissioner must approve this investigation. This means the Police Commissioner says it is okay to hide your identity. You might be a Police employee or work for a similar agency in another country.
