You are getting married in a Society of Friends or an exempt religious body ceremony. You and your partner must fill out a marriage form after the ceremony. You must sign the form with two witnesses. You give one form to the registering officer of your religious group. The registering officer must send the form to the Registrar-General as soon as possible. The Registrar-General is in charge of keeping marriage records. The rules for filling out the form are in the Marriage Act 1955, which you can find on the New Zealand legislation website and section 24 of the Marriage Act 1955.
