You need to apply to renew your licence before it expires. You must apply to the Registrar using the correct form and pay the fee if there is one. The Registrar will check your application. When you apply to renew your licence, the Registrar checks some things, like if you have done the required continuing education. The Registrar looks at what section 43(1) says and also checks if you have done the continuing education required by the practice rules made by the Authority under section 15. If you apply to renew your licence but the Registrar has not made a decision before it expires, your licence keeps going until the application is decided. 52Renewal of licence

  1. An application for renewal of a licence must, before the date on which the licence expires,—

  2. be made to the Registrar in the prescribed form; and
    1. be accompanied by the prescribed fee (if any).

      1. Subject to subsection (3), sections 36, 37, and 43 apply, with any necessary modifications, to an application for renewal of a licence.

      2. The Registrar must, in addition to the matters specified in section 43(1), be satisfied that the applicant for renewal of a licence has completed any continuing education required by practice rules made by the Authority pursuant to section 15.

      3. If an application for renewal of a licence has been made but not determined before the date on which the licence is due to expire, the licence continues in force until the application is determined.

      4. The grant of a renewal of a licence takes effect from the date of expiry of the previous licence.
