The Authority makes rules to help it do its job. You need to know these rules include a code of professional conduct and client care. This code is a guide for how agents should behave towards their clients. The Authority's rules are called secondary legislation, which means they are a type of law. You can find out more about secondary legislation in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. This explains how these rules are published. The Authority's rules are important because they help agents know how to behave. You can think of the code of professional conduct and client care as a set of guidelines for agents. These guidelines focus on the duties of agents to their clients.
