Radiocommunications Act 1989

Miscellaneous provisions - Reference standards

133: Secretary may issue reference standards

You could also call this:

"The Secretary can make rules for radio equipment to work properly."

Illustration for Radiocommunications Act 1989

The Secretary can create rules about how well radio equipment works. You can find these rules in the Gazette. The Secretary can make rules for all radio equipment or just for some types. The Secretary can change or cancel these rules at any time. The rules can include standards from the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015, which you can find on the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015 website. This means the rules can use standards that are already set by New Zealand. The Secretary has the power to decide what these rules are and when to change them.
