Illustration for Radiocommunications Act 1989

The Minister can change some rules from time to time. You need to know these rules are about advertising on the radio. The Minister can do this by putting a notice in the Gazette. The Minister can revoke, vary, or add to any restrictions that are part of a radio licence by virtue of section 171. The Minister can also change conditions that apply to a spectrum licence by virtue of section 170(3)(b). This means the Minister has the power to make changes to these rules. The Minister's changes can affect what you hear on the radio. You can find more information about these changes in the Gazette. The Minister makes these changes to ensure the radio is used fairly and safely.
