When Radio New Zealand gets a spectrum licence for the AM Network, some conditions apply. You need to know that the first priority for using the frequency is to broadcast the proceedings of the House of Representatives. The licence holder must also pay an annual levy to the Secretary. The levy is 1.5% of the gross income from services using the spectrum licence. You will pay this levy each financial year you hold the licence. The levy must be paid within 6 months of the end of the financial year. The term gross income is defined in section 144. Subsections of section 150 also apply to the levy. The levy is in addition to any fees payable under regulations made under section 135.
