30: Certified copies of register to be evidence

You could also call this:

"A certified copy of a record is proof that the details are correct and can be used in court."

You can get a certified copy of a record from the register if you ask for it and pay the fee. The Registrar will give you the copy. You can use this copy as evidence that the details on it are correct. You can use the certified copy in court or for other official purposes. It proves that the information on it has been registered correctly. There is one exception: the Registrar does not have to give you a copy if you are not allowed to see the original record, as stated in section 28(3). This rule does not apply to radio licences. The Registrar will sign the certified copy to confirm it is genuine. This makes the copy official evidence of the registered details. You can rely on it being accurate.
