You want to know when the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 starts. Part of the Act starts the day after it is agreed to by the Governor-General. The rest of the Act starts on a date chosen by the Governor-General. You need to know that some parts of the Act start on a specific date. These parts are sections 268 to 270 and Schedule 4, which start four years after the Act is agreed to. Other parts start 18 months after the Act is agreed to. The Governor-General makes a special order to say when each part starts, which is called secondary legislation, see Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for more information.
