119Change of name if name is contrary to section 11

  1. The Registrar may by written notice require the society to change its name under section 117 if the Registrar considers that any of paragraphs (a), (b), and (d) to (f) of section 11(1) apply to a society’s name.

  2. The society must change its name within—

  3. 20 working days after the date on which the notice is served; or
    1. any longer period specified in the notice.

      1. If a society fails to comply with subsection (2),—

      2. the Registrar may enter a new name on the register for the society (being a name selected by the Registrar that would be acceptable under section 11); and
        1. issue a certificate of incorporation recording the change of name of the society.
