Privacy Act 2020

2: Commencement

You could also call this:

"When the Privacy Act 2020 starts working"

This law talks about when different parts of the Privacy Act 2020 start to work. Some parts of the law start working right away, while others start later.

You should know that some parts of the law begin as soon as the Queen or her representative signs it. These parts are:

  • A section called subpart 2 of Part 3
  • Three specific sections numbered 213, 214, and 215

The rest of the law doesn't start working until 1 December 2020. This means most of the law begins on that date.

This text is automatically generated. It might be out of date or be missing some parts. Find out more about how we do this.
