"Understanding key terms for fixing or updating your personal information"
In this part of the law, you'll learn about some important terms used when talking about fixing or changing your personal information.
When you ask to fix your personal information or add a note to it, this is called a "correction request". You can make two types of correction requests:
You can ask to fix or change your personal information if it's wrong.
You can ask to add a note to your personal information if you think it's wrong but it can't be changed.
The person who makes a correction request is called the "requestor". This means if you ask to fix or add a note to your personal information, you're the requestor.
These terms are used in this part of the law and in subpart 3 when talking about accessing and fixing personal information.
