146: Requirements for Order in Council
or “Rules for government orders to share your personal information”

You could also call this:

“Rules for government documents about sharing your personal information”

When the government makes a rule about sharing your personal information, they need to write it down in a special document. This document is called an Order in Council. Here’s what you need to know about it:

The Order in Council has to say when it will start working. This date must be written in the document.

The Order in Council also needs to add some important information to a list called Schedule 2. This information includes:

A description of the public services that the agreement is trying to help. It also needs to describe what kind of personal information can be shared between the agencies involved in the agreement.

The name of the agreement.

The name of the main agency in charge of the agreement.

A website address where you can find a copy of the agreement to read.

All of this information helps you understand how and why your personal information might be shared, and where you can find out more about it.
