"The Director's Job: Keeping People Safe in Emergencies"

The Director of Civil Defence Emergency Management has all the powers needed to do their job. You can think of their job as keeping people safe during emergencies. The Director can use resources from other groups to help with this.

The Director can co-ordinate the use of resources like personnel, equipment, and information from different departments and groups, including the New Zealand Defence Force as provided in the Defence Act 1990. This helps the Director to respond to emergencies and keep people safe. The Director can also control how other groups work during an emergency.

The Director has many responsibilities, including providing transport, medical care, and food to people in need. The Director can also give warnings about hazards and share information about how to stay safe. The Director can work with other groups to plan for emergencies and help people recover after an emergency.

The Director can issue guidelines and standards to help other groups do their jobs. These guidelines might be about how to respond to specific emergencies or how to work together. The Director can also give advice and help other groups plan for emergencies.
