Civil defence emergency management planning and civil defence emergency management duties - National civil defence emergency management strategy

32: Procedure for completing national civil defence emergency management strategy

You could also call this:

"How the Minister completes the national emergency plan"

The Minister has to do some things before they can finish the national civil defence emergency management strategy. You need to know that the Minister must tell the public about the proposed strategy by publishing a notice in the Gazette and in daily newspapers. The Minister must also give people time to make submissions on the proposal and consult with people they think are appropriate.

The Minister will decide how much time people have to make submissions and this will be stated in the notice. After the Minister has finished the strategy, they can sign it and then they must give a copy of the strategy to the House of Representatives as soon as possible.

The Minister has to follow these steps to make sure the national civil defence emergency management strategy is completed properly.
