When there is an emergency, you need a team to help manage it. This team is called a Civil Defence Emergency Management Co-ordinating Executive Group. It has members from different groups like local authorities, police, and fire services.

The team gives advice to the main Civil Defence Emergency Management Group. They also make sure the group's decisions are carried out. They oversee the plan for managing emergencies in their area.

The team can include a senior ambulance service officer. They work together to keep you safe during an emergency. You can find more information about the laws that govern this team on the New Zealand legislation website.
