Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002

Powers in relation to transition periods

94H: General transition period powers

You could also call this:

"Powers to help keep you safe during an emergency"

If there is a big emergency, a Recovery Manager can do some important jobs. You might see them carrying out works, clearing roads and public places, or examining and marking properties. They can also remove or dispose of dangerous structures and materials to keep you safe.

A Recovery Manager can provide essential supplies like food and fuel to people who need them. They can also give information and advice to the public to help them stay safe.

The Recovery Manager has these powers to help people during a transition period, as stated in the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, which was amended by the Civil Defence Emergency Management Amendment Act 2016.
