Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002

Transition periods

94F: Content and publication of transition period notices and their extensions

You could also call this:

"Notices about emergency transition periods: what they must say and where they are published"

When a transition period notice is given, it must include the time and date it is given, the areas it applies to, and be in a specific form as prescribed by regulations made under section 115. You need to know that the notice will tell you when and where it starts. The notice must follow a certain format.

If a transition period is extended, the extension notice must also include the time and date it is given, the areas it applies to, and be in a specific form as prescribed by regulations made under section 115. This means you will know when and where the extension applies. The extension notice must be in the same format as the original notice.

If extra information is included in a transition period notice or extension notice, it does not affect whether the notice is valid or not. When a transition period notice or extension is given, the person giving the notice must tell the public as soon as possible.

You will be able to find the notice in newspapers that people in the affected areas read, on a website that anyone can access, and in the Gazette. The notice must be published in these places as soon as possible.
