Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002

Offences, penalties, and proceedings

103: Personation

You could also call this:

"Pretending to be a civil defence worker or leader is against the law"

If you pretend to be someone you are not, like the Director or a Controller, you can get in trouble. You do this by saying you are them or doing things that make people think you are them. This also applies to people who work with the Civil Defence Emergency Management Group or those who are in charge of helping during emergencies. You can commit an offence if you intentionally pretend to be one of these people or someone who works with them.
