76Power to require information
The Director, or a Civil Defence Emergency Management Group, or a person acting under the authority of the Director or Group, may, by notice in writing, require any person to give the Director or the Group information described in subsection (2).
The information referred to in subsection (1) is information that, in the opinion of the Director or the Group, as the case may be, is reasonably necessary for the exercise of civil defence emergency management by the Director or the Civil Defence Emergency Management Group, as the case may be, and that is—
- in the possession of the person who is asked to give the information; and
- capable of being provided without unreasonable difficulty or expense.
The information required to be given under subsection (1) must be given—
- in the form specified by the Director or the Group; and
- within the reasonable time that is specified by the Director or the Group; and
- free of charge.
