Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002

Powers in relation to transition periods

94NA: Notice requirements

You could also call this:

"Telling people about important directions during emergencies"

If you give a direction under section 94N(2)(a) or (b), you must try to notify the owners and occupiers of the structure about the direction. You must also notify the owners and occupiers of any adjacent structures or land about the direction. You must attach a copy of the notice to a prominent place on or near the structure. If you give a direction under section 94N(2)(b), you must also give public notice of the direction in a way that is reasonable for the situation.

When you give a notice, it must include the reasons for the direction, a description of what the direction applies to, and when assessments will be carried out. The notice must also say where people can find more information and it must be published in the Gazette as soon as possible. You can find more information about this in section 94N(2)(a) or (b) and section 114.
