If you get a fine from the Court Martial or a disciplinary officer for breaking a rule in the Armed Forces Discipline Act, a certificate with details of the fine can be filed in the District Court in New Zealand. 185Recovery in District Court of fines imposed under this Act

  1. If a fine has been imposed by the Court Martial, or by a disciplinary officer, on a person for an offence against this Act (whether in New Zealand or elsewhere), a certificate purporting to be signed by a competent service authority specifying particulars of the conviction and the fine imposed may be filed in the District Court in New Zealand (without payment of any fee).

  2. Subsection (1) does not limit section 85.

  3. Once a certificate under subsection (1) is filed, the fine may be enforced in accordance with Part 3 of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957.
