If you break the law in the Armed Forces, you might get a fine. You will have to pay a specific amount of money. The fine can be taken from your pay if you are in the Armed Forces. If you are not in the Armed Forces but get paid by the government, the fine can be taken from your salary or wages. The Court Martial can only give you a fine up to a certain amount. For Armed Forces members, the fine cannot be more than what they would earn in 84 days. For others, the fine cannot be more than $3,000, except when the Court Martial is dealing with a civil offence under section 74. These rules also apply if you get a fine from a military tribunal.
