Illustration for Armed Forces Discipline Act 1971

If you are sentenced to imprisonment or detention under this Act and you escape, the time you are away will not count towards your sentence. You will still have to serve the rest of your sentence when you are caught. This does not apply if you are being held in custody under a different law while you are away.
