The board of Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) must create operating principles. You need to know these principles guide FENZ and help it work effectively. The board must consider important things like providing good services and being transparent. The operating principles are designed to help FENZ work well with other organisations. You will see FENZ working with other groups to make good decisions. The board must think about local differences and engage with FENZ staff and other groups. The board must also consider what is said in section 12(4) when making these principles. This helps FENZ work with other organisations as stated in the law. The board's job is to make sure FENZ is working well and following these principles.
