If you are dealing with a hazardous substance emergency, Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) must tell the relevant agencies. You need to know that FENZ takes action during these emergencies under section 39. FENZ must notify these agencies as soon as possible after they are called to the emergency. FENZ must include what is happening and where it is happening in the notification. This helps the agencies understand the situation. You can find more information about what FENZ does during emergencies. FENZ has a duty to notify the agencies quickly and with the right information. This is an important part of keeping people safe during hazardous substance emergencies. FENZ works with other agencies to respond to these emergencies.
