Land Transfer Act 2017

Land title and registration - Title to land

53: No title to public road or reserve unless authorised

You could also call this:

"You can't own a public road or reserve without permission"

Illustration for Land Transfer Act 2017

You do not get title to a public road or reserve just by registering it. This is if the road or reserve was added to the record of title wrongly. You also do not get title if you got it using an instrument that was not allowed, you can compare this to section 77.
