When you register a transfer instrument that transfers or assigns an estate or interest under a registered lease or mortgage, the transfer or assignment takes effect in accordance with the Property Law Act 2007. This means the estate or interest is given to the person it is being transferred to. The person it is being transferred to gets the rights and has to follow the rules of the person who originally had the estate or interest.
