Land Transfer Act 2017

Dealings in estates and interests in land - Caveats

139: Notice of caveat against dealings

You could also call this:

"Telling a land owner someone has stopped a deal on their land"

Illustration for Land Transfer Act 2017

When someone lodges a caveat against dealings on a piece of land, the Registrar must tell the owner of that land. The Registrar gives notice to the owner of the estate or interest that the caveat is about, which means the owner knows someone has lodged a caveat. You can find more information about this by looking at s 142(b).
