The Registrar can set standards and issue directives about how the land register is run. You need to know the Registrar can make rules about things like how practitioners do their jobs and how evidence is kept. The Registrar must talk to groups that will be affected by these rules and think about their comments before making them. The Registrar can make rules about things like what practitioners need to do and how to follow the law. You can find out more about what these rules are by looking at the standards and directives the Registrar makes. These rules are a type of law called secondary legislation, which you can read about in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. The Registrar's standards and directives are important because they help people follow the law. When the Registrar makes these rules, they must make sure people know about them. This is so you can understand what you need to do to follow the law.
