When you want to give public notice about something to do with land, it means you tell people about it in certain ways. You publish the notice in the Gazette and in one or more newspapers that people in the area where the land is located can read. You also publish it in any other way the Registrar says you should. The notice must give enough information so people who might be interested can understand what it is about. If there is too much information to include in the notice, you can make some of it available on an Internet site instead. The notice must say that more information is available on the site and give enough detail so people know what kind of information they can find there. You can find more information about this by looking at s 240 or the changes made by section 85 of the Statutes Amendment Act 2025.
