This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

This Act will come into force when it gets Royal assent. You need to know that some parts will come into force later. Part 1 of Schedule 11 will come into force one month after Royal assent. The rest of the parts will come into force on a specified transition date. You can find the meaning of specified transition date in clause 4(5) of Schedule 1. These parts include things like duties and restrictions, planning consents, and key roles. Some other parts will also come into force on the specified transition date. These include sections about system performance, enforcement, and emergency works. There are also parts about miscellaneous things, legal effect of rules in plans, and designations. The Planning Tribunal and amendments to legislation are also included. You can find all these parts in the different sections and schedules of the Act. The specified transition date will be used to determine when these parts come into force.
