This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Illustration for Planning Bill

You are proposing to do an activity that follows a permitted activity rule. This rule says you must register the activity, as explained in section 38. You must tell the consent authority in writing that you plan to do the activity. You must include information about how you will meet the conditions of the rule. You must also provide any other information the rule requires. The consent authority will then decide if you can do the activity. The consent authority has 10 working days to make a decision. They will tell you if you can do the activity or not. If they say you can, they will register the activity and check that you follow the rules. They will monitor the activity to ensure you meet the permitted activity rule. This is to make sure you do the activity correctly and safely. The consent authority's job is to oversee the activity and enforce the rules.
