A new law is being proposed that says regional spatial plans must do several things. You will see these plans set the direction for development and investment in a region for at least 30 years. They will also help make sure decisions are made in a way that works well with the Natural Environment Act 2025. You will find that these plans implement rules made under this new law and the Natural Environment Act 2025. This means they will help make sure the environment is protected while still allowing for development. They will also help central government, local authorities, and other groups work together on funding and investing in infrastructure. These plans will promote working together on development and infrastructure planning. This will help make sure that development and infrastructure investments are well planned and work well together. You can expect to see regional spatial plans support a co-ordinated approach to infrastructure funding and investment.
