This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

You are looking at a proposed law change. If you are in charge of giving consents, you cannot make more time for some things. You cannot give more time to negotiate an aquaculture agreement under section 186ZM of the Fisheries Act 1996. You also cannot give more time to process and decide on applications for wood processing or certain energy activities, which are explained in section 118. This rule is part of a bigger plan to change how planning consents work. It affects how you handle certain types of applications. The proposed law says you must follow these rules when dealing with these specific matters. You have to stick to the original time limits for these things. This is what the proposed law change says about time limits for certain activities.
