The purpose of a national policy direction is to help achieve goals and resolve conflicts. You will see it used to particularise the goals and direct how they must be achieved. It can also help resolve conflicts between goals in section 11 of this Act and those in section 11 of the Planning Act 2025. 78Purpose of national policy direction

  1. The purpose of a national policy direction is to do 1 or both of the following:

  2. to particularise the goals and direct how they must be achieved; or
    1. to help resolve conflicts between the goals in section 11 of this Act and those in section 11 of the Planning Act 2025.
